YOU Are In Control

groucho_marx_nature_3833

Genius, this has got to be my favorite quote.  The reason being, it shows the power of the mind.

Our daughter was born on Friday the 13th this for me signifies an amazing day.  Apparently walking over a block of 3 drains on the pavement is bad luck, I was so over avoiding them, I decided that it was good luck so now I traipse over them with a smile on my face.

My point being, whatever you see in a situation it will be, if you think it’s shit then I’m pretty sure it will be if you see it as a positive challenge then that’s what it will be.

You are in control of your thoughts, if they are stopping you from doing something in your life that will ultimately benefit you, make you happier then it’s you and only you that can make that decision to face that fear and change it.

How about this week taking a negative thought or fear that you have and turning it on it’s head, go on give it a go and enjoy the feeling of freedom.

FUCK IT

I received some tickets to an event in London this past weekend.  It was called The Fuck It Weekend and it’s ran by a lovely couple called John and Gaia. It was great, we sat on the floor all weekend whilst chatting, dancing and doing both mind and physical exercise.

I wanted to share one exercise with you that we did that I really liked.  It’s really simple and you can get really fast results from it.

The Exercise:

  • Make a list of what you love to do
  • Make a list of what you don’t like doing
  • Make a list of what you used to love doing
  • Make a list of what you think you’d love to do

Now:

  • Start doing more of what you love
  • Start doing less of what you don’t like
  • Think about why you’re not doing what you use to love doing
  • Start finding out more about what you’d think you’d love to do

Fuck it and do more of what you love!

Use obstacles to grow and learn more about who you are and what you can achieve.  Amy Purdy, what an inspiration.

Making a difference

I wanted to update you on what I’m doing alongside my Coaching Creatives.  For those who do not follow me on Facebook yet you’re seriously missing out on my random yelps of excitement, you can like my page here http://www.facebook.com/JaneDringCoachingCreatives.

Each week I coach at See Job Club. See Job Club is all about working with the local community to get people who want to find work and are currently unemployed back into employment.

The key areas we focus on are confidence building and increasing self esteem (which with many people is pretty low), C.V. work, interview techniques and general job searching.

We do this voluntary there is no charge. We now have 3 locations, 55 members and it’s growing each week. In the last weeks and a direct result of See Job Club we’ve seen 6 members land jobs. It’s only the start…Watch this space we’ve got big plans!

So there you have it!

Have a super weekend and remember to do something for you.
